Hot Pepper, Potato, and Onion Pizza Recipe

Hot Pepper, Potato, and Onion Pizza

  • Sauteed hot pepper (wear gloves while chopping)
  • Sauteed onion
  • Roasted sliced potatoes
  • Mozzarella cheese
  • Homemade pizza sauce
  • Homemade pizza dough

Note: This pizza packed a lot of heat. Even though I wore gloves while chopping the onion, I still burned my eye when I rubbed it later. And I inhaled some of the fumes while chopping the pepper leading me to decide that wearing a face mask would have been a good idea.  The heat didn’t hit Andrew until he ate a lone pepper slice and then he tried using the crust to numb the burn. It was totally worth it though; the pizza was great!

Fulmer Pie Pizza Recipe

Fulmer Pie Pizza

I come from a long line of farmers and do-it-yourselfers, but somehow I have struggled with both skills. I am just learning how to garden and I have been known to purchase a lot of ingredients that my Uncle Al would just as soon make himself. Homemade pizza sauce is an ingredient that I have not yet attempted. While visiting my Uncle Al, he hand had some homemade sauce in the fridge ready to use for one our of three pizza creations.

To go along with the homemade sauce we pan cooked Italian sausage. We also included kalamata olives,  sun dried tomatoes, sliced jalapenos and yellow peppers. After pre-baking the dough we slathered on the homemade sauce, laid on sharp provolone cheese, added all the veggies and sausage, then sprinkled on grated parmesan cheese. We let the pizza bake and then dug in.

So many flavors jumped off this pizza. I honed in on the homemade pizza sauce. Uncle Al’s sauce recipe is so good that I could eat it like soup! The rest of the pizza was amazing as well, from the sausage to the veggies and the cheeses. It only took one bite to for me to change my ways and commit to making pizza sauce for all my pizzas.

Chipotle Chicken Pizza Recipe

It isn’t often that we host dinner guests without dietary restrictions or special topping requests, but when we hosted Andrew’s friend Liz for dinner she seemed pretty adventurous. I really enjoy making first time visitors an original creation so this gave me the opportunity to try out my idea of making pizza with chipotle ranch sauce.

First I marinated chicken cutlets in a chipotle sauce. While Andrew grilled the chicken cutlets I concocted a sauce for the pizza by combining ranch dressing and the chipotle marinade used on the chicken. I also sliced and sauteed jalapeno peppers and red onion. After pre-baking the pizza dough I spread on the sauce, sprinkled on mozzarella cheese, the grilled chicken,  jalapeno peppers and onion. I let the pizza bake for about 10 minutes until the cheese was just turning brown.

The grilled chipotle chicken tasted fantastic with the sauce and jalapeno peppers! We all agreed that we liked the tasty kick of my chipotle ranch chicken pizza recipe!
